Thanksgiving is wonderful, and Black Friday has all kinds of great deals, but Small Business Saturday is one of my favorite holidays this time of year. Any opportunity to support the local restaurants, shops, and other businesses in your community is always welcome. So, make sure that you go out to your favorite local restaurant, pick something up from the local mom and pop shop, and thank the owners for the hard work they put in!

However, while these businesses are certainly worthy of your support, there’s a category of small businesses that often get overlooked when discussions about supporting local businesses come up: service providers. They’re not often highlighted, because their whole job is to support the livelihoods of other residents and small businesses in the area. Yet, their work is essential in any community’s growth.

I think it’s a shame that hard-working service providers get overlooked, in part because I am one myself, but also because I could think of several friends of mine that have done a ton of fantastic work in the local, Washington, Missouri community. So, I decided to do what I could to make sure that other people knew about them too! I’ve known each of these guys for years, some long before they went into business for themselves. Plus, I’ve had the pleasure of helping each of them out with their marketing in varying capacities.

So, without further ado, let me introduce you to 3 great service providers that you should know about if you live in the Washington, MO area.

Brian Melton – Excelsior Bookkeeping

If you ask just about any small business owner, in any type of business or industry, they will tell you that one of the most important things that you MUST have is a good accountant. Of course, before you can consider having landscaping done on your property, you need to own property first! When looking for a home, a good realtor really can make all the difference, in every aspect of the process. They help you with narrowing down what you’re looking for, finding the best options in the area, negotiating the price, and transitioning you into that new home. Brian Sohn is excellent at helping his clients to do all of these things, whether you’re buying or selling. But don’t just take my word for it:
